Quick and Easy Ways to Make Your Morning
To be the best version of yourself and reach the goals you’ve set for yourself, it’s so important to remember the foundational pieces that keep us on track. These foundational pieces are getting enough sleep and rest, making time for exercising (even 30 minutes a day), cultivating a work-life balance, and eating well.
I don’t know about you, but to me, it feels like these days we are all suffering from decision fatigue. One of my resolutions for 2021 was to spend less time making decisions that shouldn’t require too much time and energy. I find myself constantly overthinking what to eat. This is especially true in the morning when all I really want to do is start my day.
Mornings can be so chaotic in my home. Between babies and getting to the computer, I need to have something easy to grab and go. I feel like the number one thing we are always chatting about in our mom group text chain is “Does anyone have any new recipes?” For me, breakfast is one of those meals I need to be easy, bonus points if I can feed the entire family the same thing. That means it needs to be healthy but delicious enough for a toddler’s taste buds. To accomplish this, I’ve taken on the task of meal prep once a week! I know, it may not seem like much, but if you’ve been following me for a while you know that cooking is far from my favorite chore.
Before I dive into some of my new go-to recipes, I’ve got a couple of friendly tips to make your morning the best that it can be. First things first, before you have your coffee or tea, I highly suggest drinking a full glass of water. Drinking a couple of glasses of water to allow the body to rehydrate allows for better digestion when you do eat. It also helps with moving the lower bowels for regularity in the mornings.
Next up, spend ten minutes stretching, meditating, or journaling (or all three!) Whatever works for you, but those first ten minutes to just enjoy some alone time and set your intention for the day will go a long way! If you can mix it in, I also recommend making time for a quick self-care moment. Even if it’s simply washing your face and applying your SPF moisturizer, setting up these touchpoints in your morning routine will help to guide you through the day. I’ve linked my favorite SPF above, use JBBRANDY15 for 15% off!
Finally, I’m sharing some healthy morning meals everyone is going to love. As I said, I’m not a cook, but I do love to bake! So, here are five things you can bake, freeze, warm, or blend that will keep you on the right track!
